The marigolds mural that stretches from Paradise Row to the end of Main Street is in need of a bit of a facelift and the founder of the Marigold project is looking for some volunteers to help restore it to its former glory.
Barry Ogden says the mural, which is 300 feet long and four feet high, was done back in 1999 by 300 high school students from 10 different high schools and now he’s looking for some people to redo it in one day.
Ogden says that murals help build a sense of community and a sense of place. He says it’s a great way for a community to learn about itself
The one-day painting project is going to be on Saturday, May 16 and Ogden tells us the street will be blocked off. Paint will be provided but you will need to bring your own brushes.
To sign up to volunteer you can call Ogden at (506) 658 5911.
