Government, law enforcement, and the local mayors of Charlotte County coming together in a roundtable meeting to talk about keeping communities safe.
Regional Minister for New Brunswick Rob Moore says they talked about the new criminal justice legislation. A meeting set up with MP for South-West New Brunswick, John Williamson to talk about the new bill on terrorism, as well as the “Life Means Life” bill, which will see first degree murderers receiving life sentences without parole.

The federal government has enacted more than 30 measures to ensure offenders serve the right amount of time for their crimes, to better protect Canadians, and provide victims with a stronger voice.
Also attending the meeting were several officers with the St. Stephen RCMP, St. Stephen Mayor John Quartermain, Mayor of the Village of Blacks Harbour Terry James, and McAdam Mayor Frank Carroll.
