An update being given to the Fundy Regional Service Commission on the status of the field house project for Exhibition Park.
Bill MacMackin is the Project Leader, he says some funding has already been secured.
MacMackin says the project will cost roughly $25 million.
In March, city council promised to give the project $4.2 million over three years, as long as Exhibition Park takes on any future operating debts and secures funding from other partners, including the federal and provincial governments.
MacMackin says the field house could host national events and bring excitment to the city.
He tells CHSJ news the project will be built in two phases, phase one will include field house components and the second phase would see two ice surfaces attached to the building, when the need is there.
