Cooke Aquaculture is buying the former synagogue building in the uptown core.
The building has been vacant for quite some time and the plan is to develop the building to create high-end offices.
Vice President of Communications Nell Halse says the company will also respect the integrity of the historical qualities of the building both inside and out.
Halse says the location made sense because their new corporate headquarters is located right across the street on the corner of Wellington Row and Carleton Street.
She says the company has invested interest in the neighbourhood and are looking forward to restoring the old synagogue building that’s been sitting empty for quite some time.
Although Cooke Aquaculture is a $2 billion dollar company with assets across the globe, New Brunswick is where it calls home.
Halse says Cooke Aquaculture is a family business and says the company is excited to be investing in its home province.
