The Salvation Army is asking for your time to help those in need this holiday season.
They are looking for volunteers for their annual Christmas Kettle Campaign.
The iconic red kettles are in various places in Saint John including malls and grocery stores and collect money for those facing hardships.
Funds go to things like help buying toys, feeding programs, youth services, recovery services and disaster relief.
However, this year, Lieutenant Jason Brinson, corps officer in Saint John says, they are currently facing empty shifts and that means anyone who wants to donate, can’t.
“With the need greater than ever this Christmas, we encourage everyone to consider donating their time.”
The Salvation Army says shifts are flexible and can be mornings, afternoons or evenings and can be filled a little easier if groups like businesses and sports teams sign up.
“No contribution is too small, and every volunteer hour makes a real difference in the lives of your neighbours in need. It is only together that we can give hope today,” says Brinson.
