The Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick (PCNB) quickly responded after the Liberal platform was unveiled last Thursday, declaring that Susan Holt’s claims about budget balancing were thoroughly debunked.
The party stated a fundamental miscalculation revealed that Team Holt had approved a strategy that would lead to a deficit of no less than $1 billion.
PCNB stated First Nations are taking legal action against the Government of New Brunswick to assert Aboriginal title over an area that amounts to 125 per cent of the province’s total land.
The party also said Susan Holt doesn’t have a real budget for drug rehab, along with a free energy efficiency program.
“It’s clear that the entire Liberal platform was a communications exercise, rather than a serious policy document,” said Glen Savoie, PCNB Candidate for Saint John East.
“Susan Holt wanted to say so badly that her platform cost less than the HST cut we are proposing that her team have created a complete work of fiction.”
“The PCNB under Blaine Higgs won’t try to buy your vote. We will be honest with you about the cost of our promises, too. I call on Team Holt to be honest with voters, and produce a new platform document with accurate costing.”
