Scotiabank’s online banking service is down for the second pay day in about a month.
The website says Scotia Online is currently unavailable, and a third-party website, Down Detector, shows more than 1500 outages were reported to their site, all related to banking online and on mobile devices.
Scotiabank also confirmed on social media that their technical team is aware of the outage and working on a fix.
Hi Hannah,
Thanks for your message. Our technical team is aware and diligently working on a fix. Scotia OnLine via computer is not impacted. Please send us a DM should you wish to chat further. ^RJ

The bank had a similar outage near the end of July, when customers found they weren’t getting their paychecks deposited. However, Scotiabank previously said they resolved that issue.
At a Scotiabank branch in Dartmouth, N.S., local employees were unaware of any outage but were unable to log into the mobile banking app. However, they could log into the website for online banking.
If anyone has issues with the app, they said people should try and log into their bank accounts through the web browser on their phones instead of the mobile app.
