Canadian soldiers who died in the Dieppe Raid 82 years ago today are being remembered.
Nearly 5,000 Canadian soldiers led the raid on Aug. 19, 1942, as part of Operation Jubilee.
It marked the the bloodiest day of the Second World War for our country.
More than 900 Canadians lost their lives and thousands more were wounded or taken prisoner.
The raid was studied carefully in planning later attacks against the enemy-held coast of France.
