Saint John is looking for feedback as the city’s fire department develops a 15-year strategic plan.
A community needs survey has been launched on the Shape Your City Saint John website.
“Saint John Fire Department is committed to developing strategic initiatives and resource allocation that will prioritize community needs and effective service,” said the release.
“The survey results will offer direction related to fire infrastructure investments, allocation of resources, and provide a better understanding of the community’s needs, expectations and concerns related to fire-rescue services.”
The department has over 160 firefighters, command personnel, training staff, and support personnel operating from six fire stations and a training academy.
They cover 315 square kilometres of urban, rural, and undeveloped land, serving the city’s 75,000 residents.
The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and is available until Aug. 25.
Paper copies of the survey are also available at the Customer Service Centre at City Hall.
