Last weekend (June 21-23) was a big weekend, featuring loads of competitive sports all across town for the East Coast Games. Here’s a quick recap of some of the fun I had checking out all the incredible athleticism:
Friday night kicked off at the UNB stadium for the first games of Rugby! All the players were really digging the Magic Mountain swag, so you can blame them when I run out very soon!
Saturday morning was a slight break from sports. We were so happy to be part of Touch a Truck! I’ve never seen so many Saint Johners EARLY for an event. It was great to see all the enthusiasm from the little ones and embrace the chaos of all the horns honking at once.
We got to take part in the announcement of the Rugby awards Saturday afternoon. Congrats to all teams!
The ultimate frisbee was super fun to watch! They even tried to recruit me for the team. Maybe next year guys.
Honourable mentions that I couldn’t get good pictures of because of weather: Soccer and Flag Football! They were killing it in the rain.
This weekend there is A LOT going on for Canada Day, and I will be roaming around Saint John and surrounding areas. Saturday, I will be at Taco Boys over at East Point to celebrate their anniversary around noon. Sunday I will check out come more farmers markets (Loch Lomond Farmers Market has earned my love and frequent visits) and Stay tuned to 97.3 The Wave or Country 94.1 for updates on my exact location on Monday to come and get your swag and free chips and celebrate this beautiful country we live in.
See you out there!
