You may notice emergency vehicles and first responders on Thursday at the Irving Oil Refinery in Saint John.
Officials with Irving Oil are letting the public know that it is only a training exercise and there is no reason to be alarmed.
The majority of the planned activities will take place on-site and the refinery’s Emergency Mass Notification System will be activated at the beginning and end of this exercise.
“Planned exercises are part of our standard operating procedures across our company, where the safety of our people, our communities and the environment are a core value,” said an Irving Oil statement.
This training, which will also involve first responders, is scheduled from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
