Hey folks! Quick update about last weekend’s events and a heads up as to where you can find me this weekend. This weekend (June 21-23) is a big one! We have the East Coast Games from Friday to Sunday and they are JAM PACKED with sports and fun for everyone. I wish I could make it out to every event but I can’t be split into 24 different pieces! Yes, twenty four different sports are happening all across Saint John and surrounding areas all weekend long. But before I get into that, here’s a bit about last weekend:
Friday Kicked off with a Ukrainian/Canadian fun and fundraising event at Fusion Taproom East. Fun was had by all, and the potluck side of things was TASTY!
Saturday saw me at the Joggin’ the Goggins 24 hour fundraising event around the Irving Nature park. A group of guys ran loops around the Nature Park for 24 hours, exceeding 100 kilometres to raise money for NB Social Pediatrics. Not quite sure the total amount but they were aiming for 24000 dollars and seemed to be on pace to exceed that goal as well. It was amazing to run the first two laps with these guys and get their stories. GREAT work! (that’s me in the green on the left)
The Coast Guard held an open house event and were kind enough to give me a tour of the place off Bayside drive. They even let me drive the underwater inspection robot!
Of course, Ribfest 506 Saint John was happening so I had to check them out! The food was INSANELY GOOD.
A chill Sunday had the Queens’s Square Market with a Teddy Bear Picnic for the little ones in support of the Saint John Family Resource Centre and back at the Ribfest for some better weather and still tasty food!
