Mounties say a teen has been charged with murder in a homicide investigation near Fredericton.
Officers responded to a report of an assault with a weapon on Nelson Drive in Nasonworth around 11 a.m. Monday.
“When police arrived, they located a 34-year-old man outside of the residence who was suffering from significant injuries. The man died at the scene as a result of his injuries,” RCMP said in a news release on Tuesday.
A short time later, a 17-year-old from Nasonworth was located walking on Phillips Road and arrested without incident.
He appeared in court on Tuesday to face a charge of second-degree murder.
The teen was remanded into custody and has a bail hearing scheduled for May 23.
