A network outage involving debit and credit card processing company Moneris led to frustration for many on Saturday.
Canadians from coast to coast took to social media saying they were unable to use their cards at many retailers.
Many of the social media posts linked the outage back to Moneris, which remained silent until shortly after 3 p.m. Atlantic Time.
“Moneris has resolved a network outage and returned transaction processing to normal. Merchants may experience some transaction slowness while systems catch up,” the company said in a social media post
While the network outage has been resolved, the company’s website was still experiencing technical issues.
There is no word at this point on what caused the network outage.
