It is the time of year junior hockey fans across the Maritimes have been waiting for.
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League regular season begins on Friday night.
But Saint John Sea Dogs fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the team on home ice.
The Sea Dogs are on the road on Friday to face the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
Both teams will face off again on Saturday night at TD Station in Saint John. The puck drop is at 7 p.m.
Ahead of the first regular season game, Peter Reynolds was named the 21st captain in Sea Dogs history.
The Fredericton native is entering his fourth year with the Sea Dogs after being selected 21st overall in the 2019 QMJHL Draft.
Reynolds has registered a total of 50 goals and 64 assists for 114 points in 134 career games.
Joining Reynolds in the leadership group are Noah Reinhart and Mathis Gauthier, who will serve as alternate captains.
