Police say speed and alcohol and believed to have been factors in a fatal crash near Petitcodiac.
RCMP, paramedics and fire crews were called to Route 905 in Forest Glen around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Cpl. Kevin Glode said it is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle and drove off the road.
Glode said the passenger in the vehicle died at the scene from their injuries.
They have been identified as a 33-year-old woman from Shediac.
Glode said the man driving the vehicle was taken to the hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are still piecing together the cause of the crash.
