A disturbance led to a heavy police presence in the community of St. George over the weekend.
RCMP Cpl. Stephane Esculier said they were called to a Main Street apartment just before 1 a.m. Sunday.
“When our members arrived, they learned that a female had assaulted a male with a weapon,” Esculier said in an interview on Monday.
Esculier said the accused had fled the scene before officers arrived at the location.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released, he said.
“The female was located shortly after down the road and arrested,” said Esculier.
She has since been released on an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date.
