Saint John fire crews made quick work of a small fire at an uptown restaurant on Sunday night.
Mark Arrand, acting platoon chief, said firefighters were called to 42 Princess Street just before 11 p.m.
Arrand said the call initially came in as an alarm activation in the business.
“Upon arrival, they were met by staff and were notified about a deep fryer on fire,” Arrand said in an interview Monday morning.
Arrand said fire crews were able to knock down the flames using a fire extinguisher.
No one was hurt and any damage was limited to the deep fryer area, he said.
A total of 16 firefighters and one commanding officer were on the scene.
