The Saint John River is still expected to surpass flood stage in several communities over the coming days, according to River Watch.
The latest five-day forecast released Tuesday shows Fredericton, Gagetown and Jemseg reaching flood stage at some point.
In Fredericton, where flood stage is 6.5 meters, water levels are expected to peak at 7.0 metres on Wednesday and Thursday.
The river is then expected to drop below flood stage by Saturday (6.4 metres) and Sunday (6.3 metres).
Water levels in Gagetown will surpass flood stage (4.0 metres) on Wednesday at 4.1 metres and climb to 4.8 metres by Saturday and Sunday.
Jemseg is also expected to reach flood stage (4.3 metres) on Thursday and climb to 4.6 metres on Sunday.
Water levels are also expected to climb in other communities but are not anticipated to reach flood stage over the next five days.
Saint John/Quispamsis and Oak Point will come within one metre of flood stage by Thursday and within 60 centimetres by Saturday and Sunday. Flood levels are 4.2 metres in Saint John/Quispamsis and 4.7 metres in Oak Point.
Grand Lake will come within one metre of flood stage (5.0 metres) by Thursday and within 50 centimetres by the weekend.
In Hampton, water levels will come within one metre of flood stage (4.6 metres) by Friday and remain almost unchanged throughout the weekend.
Water levels in Maugerville are expected to come within 30 centimetres of flood stage (6.0 metres) by Wednesday and start to fall over the weekend.
Sheffield-Lakeville Corner will see water levels rise to within 30 centimetres of flood stage (4.8 metres) by Friday and hold steady through the weekend.
