The Saint John River is expected to hit flood stage in several communities this week, according to River Watch.
The latest five-day forecast released Monday shows Fredericton, Gagetown and Jemseg reaching flood stage at some point.
In Fredericton, where flood stage is 6.5 meters, water levels are expected to exceed flood stage on Wednesday (6.6 metres) and Thursday (6.7 metres).
The river is then expected to drop below flood stage on Friday (6.4 metres) and Saturday (6.1 metres).
Water levels will surpass flood stage in Gagetown (4.0 metres) on Wednesday at 4.1 metres and climb to 4.3 metres on Thursday and 4.5 metres on Friday and Saturday.
Jemseg is also expected to reach flood stage (4.3 metres) on Friday and hold steady on Saturday.
Water levels are also expected to climb in other communities but are not anticipated to reach flood stage over the next five days.
Saint John/Quispamsis, Oak Point and Grand Lake will come within one metre of flood stage by Thursday and within 70 centimetres by Saturday. Flood levels are 4.2 metres in Saint John/Quispamsis, 4.7 metres in Oak Point and 5.0 metres in Grand Lake.
Water levels in Hampton will come within one metre of flood stage (4.6 metres) by Saturday.
In Maugerville, water levels are expected to come within 40 centimetres of flood stage (6.0 metres) by Thursday before falling on Friday and Saturday.
