Mounties say a 50-year-old man has been charged in the death of a Casino New Brunswick manager.
Police said they responded to a report of an assault at an establishment on Casino Drive in Moncton on March 4.
A 56-year-old man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and later died on March 28.
The victim was later identified as Rodney Frenette, who was the food and beverages manager at the casino for the last seven years.
Police say a man from Riverview was arrested at the scene of the alleged assault and later released pending a future court appearance.
The man was arrested again on Thursday in connection with the homicide, RCMP said in a news release on Friday.
He appeared in court via tele-remand on Friday and was charged with a single count of manslaughter.
The accused was released on what police describe as “strict conditions” and is due back in court on May 26.
