You will likely find a bright yellow envelope in your mailbox at some point this week.
Elections New Brunswick is encouraging residents to update their voter information.
It comes in advance of local government elections which are set to take place on Nov. 28.
Chief Electoral Officer Kim Poffenroth said envelopes are being sent to every household, including those not participating in an election.
“Having an up-to-date voters list allows our officers to process voters more efficiently at polling stations in future elections,” Poffenroth said in a statement.
First elections will take place in 50 communities, where new mayors and council members will be elected. You can find a full list of those communities by clicking here.
Nine other communities will hold byelections to elect one or more councillors, including Grand Bay-Westfield, Saint Andrews, and Shediac.
There will be no election in 18 other communities, including Campobello Island, Dieppe, Grand Manan, McAdam, Memramcook, Moncton, Quispamsis, Riverview, Rothesay, and Saint John.
Voters living in areas that will be participating in the fall elections will receive an additional flyer with details on the process involved in becoming a candidate.
Candidate nominations will open on Saturday, Oct. 8, and close on Friday, Oct. 28.
