Saint John is now taking applications from landowners for the Nuisance Deer Management Program.
The nuisance deer hunt will take place in Millidgeville during the regular bow-hunting season, running from Oct. 3 to Nov. 20.
According to a news release from the city, landowners must have their properties assessed by the provincial Department of Natural Resources.
Officials consider several factors, such as lot size, safety concerns, and the number of permits issued.
If accepted to the program, landowners can choose to hunt themselves or allow other hunters to use their tags.
The City of Saint John has a list of licensed bow hunters who are interested in participating in the program.
The program was created in 2019 to help manage the urban deer population in the Millidgeville area.
