Students will soon be back in the classroom for another school year.
As families prepare for the return to school, The Joshua Group is collecting donations for school supplies for students from kindergarten to grade 12.
“Every year, we try to put together as many book bags as we can to pass out to the community,” said Susan Curwin, executive director of The Joshua Group.
Curwin mentioned around a month ago they started receiving calls from parents and care providers who were looking for supplies.
“So, we usually take their children’s names, ages, and grades, and try to get together as many book bags as we can.”
Curwin added they hope to distribute the supplies by next week.
“Right now, people are frantic because they are trying to get these supplies so they know what they need before school, so by the end of next week, we hope to have all the book bags done and passed out.”
Anyone interested in donating can drop off supplies at their warehouse on 20 Bayside Drive or their other location on 85 Peacock’s Lane from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
