PRUDE Inc. is working to reduce challenges for women in Greater Saint John,
They include housing, employment, transportation, domestic violence and poverty.
The ALL Women Project involves collecting the stories of women experiencing these challenges.
“This is a time for all women to share their personal experiences. Stories about the personal barriers they have faced in their own communities,” said Brenda Diaz, the project coordinator.
She said they aim to reduce and remove obstacles for women.
“After that, we review and analyze those stories in a committee of stakeholders and representatives of different multicultural associations and organizations that support women,” Diaz said.
More than 100 women have already shared their stories for the project, but Diaz would like to have more women complete the survey.
Kaleidoscope Social Impact and the Saint John Learning Exchange are also partners on this project.
Diaz said depending on the issues the participants are facing, they can refer people to various programs.
“In terms of lack of employment or they want to improve their skills, now we can refer these women to the Learning Exchange,” Diaz said.
Diaz said their 32-member committee will also be working with the Elizabeth Fry Society to start training court liaisons.
“It all depends on the needs of our participants,” Diaz said.
The ALL Women Project is funded by the federal department of Women and Gender Equality Canada.
🔅This is just the beginning, we have now more than 100 participants! This is the first step for a great cause! Thank you for being part of the change!
