New Brunswick Public Health reported 164 active COVID-19 related hospitalizations on Sunday.
An increase of five since Saturday, the province’s active hospitalizations now consist of 75 people admitted for COVID-19 and 89 people who were admitted for reasons other than COVID-19.
Of the patients in the hospital, 13 require an ICU due to the virus. There are five people who require a ventilator.
The province announced five more people who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died.
There are three new deaths in the Moncton region – a person in their 60s, a person in their 80s and a person 90 or older. In addition, a person in their 60s from the Saint John region, and a person in their 50s from the Miramichi region have died.
Based on PCR test results, there are 274 new cases of COVID-19, which includes 114 in the Moncton zone and 70 in the Saint John region.
Another 375 rapid test positives have also been reported to the Department of Health.
