The federal government says it plans to help out Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that includes some monetary assistance.
“$120 million for the government of Ukraine. Russia is aiming to destabilize Ukraine, including economically,” explains Trudeau.
Trudeau says Ukraine asked for the loan as a way to help them out.
“This loan will help support Ukraine’s economic resilience. We’re also exploring other options to provide financial and other supports.”
Trudeau is also asking Russia to de-escalate and engage in meaningful dialogue.
