The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in New Brunswick continues to rise.
Eleven more people have been admitted, according to new stats posted to the COVID-19 dashboard on Saturday, January 8th.
This brings the total number of hospitalizations to 80.
There are 17 patients in intensive care, unchanged from Friday, and 11 on ventilators.
Public Health is reporting 421 new PCR test cases of COVID-19 today and 80 recoveries.
There are currently 7,898 active cases in the province, that includes 2,153 in Zone 1, which is the Moncton region.
In the Saint John area, Zone 2, there 3,191 active cases.
Another person has died in the province, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 171. Officials did not release details on their age or which region of the province they are from.
