As you rang in the New Year, you may have set a resolution for your health and fitness in 2022.
Chief Operating Officer at Canfitpro Maureen Hagan says, “Renovate your mindset around resolutions. Resolutions are something that, we set too many. We make them too big and we don’t attach the smart strategy to setting a goal, the specific measurable achievable and relevant to your ultimate why and making it timely. People often say they are going to stop drinking and lose ten pounds and they are going to do it by March. It’s too hard and it is unrealistic. You need to set intentions that you can focus on in baby steps everyday.”
Hagan adds consistency will allow you to incorporate your goals into your daily routines, “You will incorporate that as a daily action, just like brushing your teeth. Going for a walk will just be something that will be a part of your day. Going to the gym, like you go to the office, and in doing so it becomes a lifestyle.”
Often, people set too many resolutions that are too lofty, “Think about what is important to your health that will allow you to live the best life that you desire and deserve and then set those goals. Small steps, you can measure weekly, monthly, quarterly and then imagine one year from today, where you’ll be at,” Hagan says.
