It’s that time of year once again when the creatures called humans head to the pumpkin patch to take (a) Gourd away from his or her family in the patch. These humans are strange. In early spring they get the field ready to plant seeds to grow Gourd. They water Gourd and take care of Gourd’s needs so he will grow big and strong. And then with no regard for Gourd’s life they rip Gourd from the vine and take him away from his home and family.
But the horror for Gourd has just begun. Soon Gourd will feel the pain of cold steel cutting into his flesh. The human will cut out a circle on the top of Gourd so they can reach in with their bare hands and remove Gourd’s Innards. Now the steel blade continues to deform Gourd be carving out eyes, a nose and a hideous grin. Now a candle or light is put inside Gourd and to add to the humiliation Gourd Is now put on display on the front steps or porch or yard.
This barbaric treatment of our friend Gourd by humans is to help them celebrate a pagan tradition called Halloween where children go door to door begging for treats. unfortunately there are no treats for Gourd just trick after trick after trick. HAPPY HALLOWEEN HUMANS
