New Brunswickers must not have any private gatherings with anyone they don’t currently live with this Thanksgiving long weekend.
The measures were announced by the provincial government earlier this week amid rising COVID-19 cases, deaths, and hospitalizations.
Cpl. Hans Ouellette, media relations officer for New Brunswick RCMP, said the police force will continue with its measured approach to enforcing COVID-restrictions.
“Starting with education and fair warning with enforcement actions as a last resort, that means tickets and other enforcement actions are possible if people aren’t following the new directives being brought forward by the province.”
Going beyond COVID-19, Ouellette is reminding residents to stay safe this long weekend.
“Slow down, pay attention to speed limits, look out for one another, always buckle up, and drive sober.”
The new restrictions take effect at 6 p.m. Friday and continue until 11:59 p.m. Monday. You can find more details online.
