The Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) announced new COVID-19 guidelines Tuesday for student-athletes, coaches, officials, and game-day staff.
Anyone setting foot on the field of play who has at least one dose of a vaccine but is not fully vaccinated must provide proof of a negative rapid test before and after competition to participate.
Starting Oct. 15, those same individuals must be fully vaccinated in order to take part in association-sanctioned competition.
Those with approved vaccine exemptions will be tested at least twice weekly, in addition to the pre- and post-competition testing requirements.
In addition, all spectators at ACAA-sanctioned indoor events must wear a mask unless actively consuming food or beverage while seated.
The association is made up of 10 member schools, including the University of New Brunswick, St. Thomas University, Mount Allison University, Crandall University, Dalhousie Agricultural Campus, Mount Saint Vincent University, Université Sainte-Anne, University of King’s College, and Holland College.
