A new connector road providing better access to the Fundy Trail Parkway creates an opportunity in southern New Brunswick, according to Jill Green, the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure.
The connector road that runs from the west gate of Fundy National Park to the east entrance of the Fundy Trail Parkway is now accessible.
“It’s the culmination of a lot of hard work over many, many years,” said Green.
On Tuesday, the New Brunswick Government announced the road, which is built by the Department of Transportation, is now fully chip sealed.

The parkway previously had just one entrance, meaning visitors had to enter and leave through the western end near St. Martins.
In May 2020, the Sussex connector road allowed visitors to use the east entrance to the parkway.
However, the latest addition could prove to be the most significant given its placement. Now, travellers have the opportunity to venture between the Hopewell Rocks, the Fundy Trail Parkway and all the sights and trails that lie in between.
“It gives an opportunity for tourism operators all over the southern part of the province to benefit,” said Green
The New Brunswick Cabinet Minister said improved access also allows the parkway to be “a beautiful trail just to drive on a nice Sunday drive.”
The $45-million Fundy Trail Connector infrastructure project improve connections to the Fundy Trail Parkway and help attract more tourists to the Fundy region, according to a release from the province.
The Fundy Trail Parkway remains open through October 16th.
