Public Health reported 19 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. They have also determined that many of the new cases in other locations are linked to the cluster in the Moncton region.
“We are seeing that the Zone 1 cluster is resulting in cases in Zones 2, 6 and 7 in our province right now, so it is imperative for New Brunswickers to get vaccinated,” said Dr. Jennifer Russell, chief medical officer of health.
There are 10 new cases in the Moncton region and three new cases in the Saint John health zone.
The Fredericton, Campbellton and Bathurst health zones add two new cases each.
No one is being hospitalized in New Brunswick due to COVID-19.
The number of active cases is now 84.
70.9 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated and 83.2 per cent have had a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
