New Brunswick is approaching the 1-million mark when it comes to the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered.
According to the province’s COVID-19 dashboard, another 8,369 doses were administered Thursday, bringing the total number of doses to 997,798.
Just over 7,000 of those doses were given to people receiving their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The number of eligible residents with both doses now stands at 62.7 per cent, up by one percentage point from the day before.
New Brunswick must hit 75 per cent before the province will lift all of the pandemic restrictions.
The number of first doses also continues to tick upwards. More than 1,300 people got their first jab Thursday, pushing the first-dose vaccination rate up to 81.2 per cent.
A series of mobile vaccination clinics are taking place throughout the province for those who have not yet received their first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
