Grand Bay-Westfield has launched a new emergency and municipal information notification system.
Residents who sign up for the system are able to choose which notifications they would like to receive.
“It is critical that residents take the few moments to register for alerts,” Fire Chief Troy Gautreau said, adding the system is only good if people sign up.
Emergency notifications can be received as a phone call, a text, an email, or via TDD/TTY device.
Municipal information notifications such as public notices will be sent by email only.
Those who signed up with the old Sentinel Emergency Alerts system will need to register with the new one to keep receiving alerts.
“In the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield the safety of residents is a top priority, and as technology advances our community strives to advance communicating information to our residents,” said Mayor Brittany Merrifield.
“The bonus with this system is that it will also support our commitment to improving overall communications with our residents, such as public notices.”
You can register for the notification system on the town’s website.
