New Brunswick reported one new case of COVID-19 in the province on Monday.
Public Health says it is a travel-related case involving someone in their 20s in the Fredericton zone.
Four more people have recovered and there are now 18 active cases — the lowest number since mid-November.
There are currently four people in the hospital due to the virus but no one is in intensive care.
Mobile vaccination clinics
New Brunswickers who have not yet received their first or second dose of a vaccine will now be able to do so through a series of mobile clinics.
Health officials say the clinics, which will offer the Moderna vaccine, are intended to bridge gaps in accessibility and convenience.
The clinics will provide walk-in service with no appointment or scheduling needed ahead of time.
Five clinics will take place this week across the province:
- Club d’âge d’or de Grande-Anse, 61 de la Tourbe Ave., Grande-Anse, on Tuesday, July 6 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Centre des loisirs de Paquetville, 1086 du Parc St., Paquetville, on Wednesday, July 7 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Saint Andrews Town Hall parking lot, 212 Water St., Saint Andrews, on Thursday, July 8 between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- Bowlarama, 2020 St. Peter Ave., Bathurst, on Thursday, July 8 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Fundy Arena, 6 Arena St., Blacks Harbour, on Friday, July 9 between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Bowlarama, 476 Gauvin Rd., Dieppe, on Saturday, July 10 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
People attending a mobile vaccination clinic are asked to bring their Medicare card, a record of vaccination if receiving their second dose and a signed consent form.
Vaccines
New Brunswick has hit yet another milestone in its COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
More than 40 per cent of eligible residents now have both doses of the vaccine.
According to the latest figures released Monday morning, 5,085 people received their second dose on Sunday.
That pushed the rate of fully vaccinated New Brunswick aged 12 and older to 40.3 per cent.
Meanwhile, the number of eligible residents with at least one dose has inched up to 78.4 per cent.
Seventy-five per cent of eligible New Brunswickers ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated before the province moves to the green phase.
Officials in the province hope that will happen by New Brunswick Day, Aug. 2.
There is a new potential public exposure site for Moncton.
Individuals who travelled on Air Canada Flight 8946 from Toronto to Moncton on June 19 at 8:55 p.m. should self-monitor for symptoms.
New Brunswick has crossed the 40% threshold for the number of eligible residents fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
