New Brunswick health officials reported four new cases of COVID-19 in the province on Friday.
Two of the new cases are in the Moncton region (Zone 1) – one a person in their 20s with the other reported case a person in their 50s.
Public Health confirmed one of those cases is a contact of a previously confirmed case while the other case remains under investigation.
Two cases were also reported Friday in the Fredericton region (Zone 3) with both cases involving people in their 30s and both have been deemed related to travel.
Three new recoveries were also reported, adjusting the number of active cases in New Brunswick up to 25 with five patients still in the hospital.
Wednesday saw active cases drop to 24 provincewide, the lowest active number of cases in the province since New Year’s Day.
Fully vaccinated nears 40%
Thousands of New Brunswickers spent part of their Canada Day getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
Public Health says 8,931 doses were administered throughout the province on Thursday.
Nearly 8,200 of those were second doses while the remaining 745 were first doses.
A total of 37.3 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are now fully vaccinated, up from 36.1 per cent on Wednesday.
The number of people 12 and older with one dose has climbed slightly to 78.1 per cent.
