One person was pulled to safety Tuesday night after an apartment fire in west Saint John.
Fire crews were called to Birch Street, off Manawagonish Road, around 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Platoon Chief Ed Moyer said one person was still in the burning apartment when they arrived.
“The landlord was attempting to drag the person out so we assisted dragging the person out of the apartment that was on fire,” Moyer said in an interview Wednesday morning.
The victim was taken to the hospital by paramedics with unknown injuries, he said.
Moyer said the fire was contained in the bedroom area of the apartment and the damage was minor.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, he said.
