The University of New Brunswick has announced the winners of this year’s Currie Undergraduate Scholarships.
Safe AbuJayyab of Simonds High School in Saint John is enrolled in the bachelor of science program on UNB’s Saint John campus.
Grand Bay-Westfield’s Declan Hartery of Harbour View High School, also in Saint John, will pursue a bachelor of science in engineering on the Fredericton campus.
Jordan Cole of Riverview High School is also enrolled in the bachelor of science in engineering program on UNB’s Fredericton campus.
Megan Kinch of Westisle Composite High School in Prince Edward Island will pursue a bachelor of nursing on the Fredericton campus.
The $65,000 scholarships essentially pay all costs associated with any four-year undergraduate program.
The Currie Scholarships recognize Atlantic Canadian high school students for their potential leadership skills, present community involvement, academic success, and obstacles overcome.
Chancellor Emeritus Dr. Richard J. Currie, who was a Beaverbrook Scholar as a young man, established the scholarships in 2003.
