Update 7am, Thursday:
Sad news from authorities in San Jose.
They say another person has died of critical injuries following that shooting rampage, putting the death toll now at ten, including the gunman.
57 year old Samual J. Cassidy is the man behind the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) facility shooting, Wednesday morning near the International Airport.
Authorities said Cassidy was a former employee of VTA and Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith indicated that the cause of death has not been determined.
Further investigation revealed that the situation happened not in the operations and control centre, but in a part of the yard where workers do maintenance on vehicles.
Spokesman Deputy Russell Davis noted a bomb squad was called in to search the yard after at least one explosive device was found.
This is now known as the deadliest mass shooting in the Bay Area since July 1 1993.
In what is known as the 101 California Street Shooting in San Francisco eight people died and six others were injured.
