Public Health reported the death of an individual in their 90’s, as well as eight new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.
New Brunswick’s 41st COVID-19 related death was a resident of a special care home in Grand Falls.
The two cases in Zone 1 (Moncton region) are individuals under 19. One case is travel-related, and the other case is a contact of a previously confirmed case.
The two cases in Zone 2 (Saint John region) are individuals aged 30-39. Both cases are related to travel.
The one case in Zone 3 (Fredericton region) is an individual 50-59 and is under investigation.
The three cases in Zone 6 (Bathurst region) are as follows:
- an individual 20-29;
- an individual 50-59; and
- an individual over the age of 90.
The cases are all contacts of previously confirmed cases.
With six new recoveries since Friday, New Brunswick’s active case count is now 141. 10 New Brunswickers are in the hospital, three of which are hospitalized outside of the province. Of the seven New Brunswickers hospitalized within the province, two are in the intensive care unit.
Public Health also confirmed that residents of the Magee House residence at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton who have tested negative for the virus will be released tonight at 11:59 p.m. The remaining individuals will continue to self-isolate over the upcoming week.
