Advance voting continues today throughout most of New Brunswick, with polls open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
According to Elections NB spokesperson Paul Harpelle, nearly 29,500 New Brunswickers took advantage of the advance polls on Saturday.
This excludes residents in the Edmundston-Madawaska region who will vote later in the month due to pandemic restrictions that have since been lifted.
Similar to last fall’s provincial elections, voters are being encouraged to cast their ballots sooner rather than later.
“It’s particularly important during the pandemic that people take advantage of all the early voting opportunities in order to reduce potential congestion at the polls,” said Kim Poffenroth, municipal electoral officer.
Anyone who received a voter information card in the mail is asked to bring it to the polls. The cards will help limit the time each person has to spend at the polls.
New Brunswickers that did not receive a voter information card, can determine their nearest polling station through the Elections NB search engine.
While election day remains May 10, the results will not be released until voting closes for the affected Northwest regions at 8 p.m. on May 25th.
