City police say they recovered hundreds of catalytic converters valued at around $750,000 Wednesday.
Police say the seizure was part of an ongoing investigation, and they had received more than 50 reports of converter thefts since last December.
In a release, the force said it made the recovery while they were being smuggled out of the province, and they are planning to make arrests and charges as part of the investigation.
Anyone who has had their converter stolen but not reported it is encouraged to do so by calling the police force at 648-3333.
