Public Health announced four new cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick on Tuesday.
The one case in Zone 2 (Saint John region) is an individual 60-69.
The three cases in Zone 4 (Edmundston region) are as follows:
- two people 20-29; and,
- an individual 40-49.
All of these cases are contacts of previously confirmed cases.
The province recorded a notable amount of recoveries on Tuesday with 17 people recuperating from the virus. There are 132 active cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick with 18 people hospitalized and 13 of them are in the intensive care unit.
Jennifer Russell, the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, issued the following statement with the update.
“Even as vaccinations increase, we need to stay vigilant against COVID-19,” said Russell. “With new and more contagious variants arriving, it is important to take steps to keep yourself and your community safe. Follow Public Health guidelines and arrange to be tested if you have any symptoms. We can get there together if everyone does their part.”
A public exposure notification was released for the Edmundston region.

Edmundston and the upper Madawaska region remain in lockdown; meanwhile, the communities of Saint-Léonard, Grand Falls, Drummond, New Denmark and Four Falls are in the Red level.
All other zones and communities in the province, including the Saint-Quentin and Kedgwick regions in Zone 4, remain in the Yellow level.
