Prince Edward Island Premier Dennis King says the landscape of COVID-19 is very different than it was four weeks ago.
This means a formal decision has not been made on the Atlantic bubble.
He says the Atlantic Premiers are hoping to meet virtually later today, “Things aren’t going our way and the situation is difficult. I would say the Atlantic bubble opening on the19th is precarious right now.”
King says that will be a decision that the Premiers will make together and a formal announcement will be made.
He adds all signs are pointing to the fact that it will need to be delayed.
Nova Scotia Premier Iain Rankin also stated during a news conference today, that border restrictions will be *reintroduced* for people crossing from New Brunswick to Nova Scotia due to rising case counts.
Rankin also says he is leaning towards pushing the Atlantic Bubble to May, and says it’s “unlikely” to open April 19th.
