The treasurer of the Saint John chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving is running for council in Ward 4.
Gina Hooley has entered the race to represent the ward that includes the city’s east side.
In a post to her Facebook page, Hooley says she wants her kids to have the same opportunities she had when she was younger, and wants to help bring growth and development to Saint John.
She adds she wants to maintain our services while also being financially responsible.
Hooley also calls for tax reform, saying it’s something the city desperately needs.
The municipal election will take place May 10.
