Joanna Killen has entered the race for council in Ward 1.
Killen is the current owner of Slocum and Ferris, which plans to reopen following renovations later this year.
If elected, Killen says she would push for municipal tax reform and to continue regionalizing services for the area.
On her campaign site, Killen says as a representative of the city’s west side she would want to work to strengthen the area’s connection to the rest of the city.
Killen ran as a candidate for the Green party in last year’s provincial election.
Voters head to the ballot box on May 10.
