A new management plan for the Kouchibouguac National Park has been drafted, and now Parks Canada is looking for your help.
Public consultations have been launched to ensure everyone can share their views, opinions and ideas on the future of the park.
The last plan was created in 2010, and now the attention has been turned to current day problems and opportunities.
These include a chance to improve relationships with indigenous communities, address areas of the park that are a cause for concern and increase cultural resources.
Parks Canada has established key strategies that will help achieve the intended vision for the park.
The titles for each strategy are as follows:
- A healthy and resilient park
- A park at the forefront
- A reflection of engaged communities
- Highly satisfied visitors throughout the year
Anyone interested in sharing their opinions on the park can do so by filling out the survey. Detailed information on the proposed management plan can be found on the Parks Canada website. Comments will be received until May 2nd, 2021.
