Another candidate is stepping forward to be considered for councillor-at-large.
Dean Secord has announced his intention to run for the city council of Saint John.
Secord worked for the police department for nearly 30 years. He was voted president of the New Brunswick Police Association and held a seat on the board of directors of the Canadian Police Association for 15 years.
Secord is now retired and says he wants concerns about transparency and accountability, fair taxation, essential services, frontline workers and the growth of the city to be at the forefront of every conversation.
There are two councillor-at large positions available.
